3. Aunt May Dies

The Rumour: With Uncle Ben already taken out of the picture, rumour began to spread in the months leading up to Homecoming's release that Marvel Studios would pull one of their classic MCU trolls (much like the Mandarin twist) by having Aunt May die, possibly even in similar fashion to Uncle Ben.

The Truth: Thanks to all that is holy, Marisa Tomei's Aunt May leaves the movie totally unscathed, not even being used as an arbitrary hostage by Vulture as a lesser film would've.

Aside from some residual shock after realising that her nephew is in fact Spider-Man, May left the movie as healthy as she entered it.
