Spider-Man Homecoming Trailer 2: 12 Major Plot Reveals

9. Peter Wants To Be An Avenger, Tony As Mentor

Spider Man Homecoming Tony And Peter

We get a number of scenes between Peter Park and Tony Stark, with the former making his intentions clear: he wants to be an Avenger. Tony, on the other hand, is clearly going to serve as Peter's mentor and paternal figure in the absence of Uncle Ben.

There's a chance we see Peter saying he wants to be an Avenger before the attack on Washington Monument, but I'd guess it comes after. Spidey saves the day there, and with it being in DC it obviously gets a lot of government attention, which is when Tony comes in to try and talk Peter out of tackling such big events. That, in turn, prompts Spider-Man to want to try and really prove himself.
