Spider-Man: No Way Home - 10 Biggest Questions It Leaves Unanswered
5. What Is Ned's Future?
One of the film's more surprising character arcs is that of Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), who is given Doctor Strange's Sling Ring and uses it to create portals, including the ones which first bring the two other Spider-Men into the fold.
By film's end Ned has also interacted with the Cloak of Levitation, which seems to imply the character may have a more prominent superheroic role in the MCU's future.
There's more to consider, though: it's casually mentioned that his grandmother says the family has magic in their blood, and that Ned feels tingling in his hands sometimes, a declaration that Strange seems rather intrigued by.
In his grandmother's house there's also a brief focus on a collection of knives, which some fans are already convinced might be hinting at Ned's more villainous potential, given that his comic book namesake was brainwashed into becoming the Hobgoblin.
Considering that Ned makes a joke about never betraying Peter and has more in common with Ganke Lee from the comics, though, it's far easier to believe that Ned is being set up as an apprentice-of-sorts to Doctor Strange.
Could Ned make an appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? Never say never.
