2. Free Climbing El Capitan

James T. Kirk has proven his resiliency and no-fear attitude over the years, that's not in question here. He also never believed in the no-win scenario, something he decided to stubbornly apply to free climbing a mountain that was once considered impossible to ascend. Not only does he attempt this stunt without any extra safety equipment, Kirk takes this daring ego-trip alone. Once Dr. McCoy realizes what Kirk is up to it practically mortifies him. However, Spock's secretly been keeping tabs on his good captain and decides it's best to pay him a visit. As he reminds Kirk of the gravity of his situation, Kirk takes one wrong small step and off he goes, free falling thousands of feet down El Capitan. Some might argue Spock was the root cause of this fall, but really, it was only a matter of time before Kirk ran into trouble on his own. Luckily, Spock saved his life, but one has to wonder if Kirk lost his mind while thrusting himself into such an unneeded position? I'd call that a big yes!
