Star Wars: 10 Awesome Announcements They Need To Make At Comic-Con

3. New Characters

Introductions - admittedly brief ones - have been given already to most of the new cast members, such as Daisy Ridley€™s Rey, John Boyega€™s Finn, Oscar Isaac€™s Poe Dameron, and Adam Driver as Kylo Ren. Most recently, it was revealed that Andy Serkis would be playing a mo-capped character called Supreme Leader Snoke. Despite their names, there still isn€™t an awful lot known about the characters, and you suspect Abrams will want to keep it that way until December 18th, but we could be getting a further look at them here, especially Serkis€™ character. From the initial casting announcement - y€™know, the one with that big photo the entire internet went crazy over - the roles of Domnhall Gleeson and Max von Sydow still haven€™t been revealed, although there€™s plenty of rumours. Gleeson is said to be playing a character called €˜The General€™, while it is also speculated he could be playing Luke Skywalker€™s son. Von Sydow, meanwhile, was initially thought to be a villain (in the mould of the Emperor), but reports suggest he could instead be the one who helps Finn and Rey. These are the two big additions we don€™t know anything about yet, but that may change before too long, even if it€™s just a confirmation of their name (although if Gleeson is Luke€™s son, you€™d imagine they€™d be holding back the Skywalker part).
