Mitth'raw'nuruodo, also known as Thrawn, was one of the highest-ranking members of the Imperial hierarchy and one of its few alien officers. A Chiss from the planet Rentor, Thrawn was a master strategist, tactician, and military leader.

Obsessed with learning about an enemy's culture, art, philosophy, and history as part of his tactics, Thrawn was also an avid collector of artefacts - from Sith Holocrons to prizes from conquered worlds. Often working over and above the Emperor and allowed free rein due to his consistent victories, the Grand Admiral ensured that the Empire's might was seen in all corners of the Galaxy.

Memorably appearing in Star Wars: Rebels and a series of popular novels, Thrawn was responsible for many Imperial victories throughout the series. Conducting war like he was playing chess, the Grand Admiral occupied Lothal and crushed countless bands of Rebels throughout the Galaxy.

His final move against the Rebels did not go entirely as planned, as Jedi Padawan Ezra Bridger sacrificed his escape to summon Hyperspace-enabled Purgills to trap Thrawn's cruiser. Ensnared by the creatures, the Grand Admiral and Bridger were both launched through Hyperspace into the Unknown Regions.

Like Grand Admiral Sloane, Thrawn would become one of the founders of the First Order, with his knowledge and understanding of the Unknown Regions serving the new Empire well.

Little is known about Thrawn or Bridger's whereabouts post-Rebels. However, this blue baddie's presence is still being felt throughout the Galaxy. The Grand Admiral's name recently resurfaced in Season Two of The Mandalorian, suggesting that he could be pulling the strings behind the Imperial Remnant and Moff Gideon's actions.

Either appearing as an antagonist for Ahsoka Tano in her upcoming series or as a villain for The Mandalorian, Grand Admiral Thrawn's legacy throughout Star Wars isn't over yet.
