A former member of the Imperial Security Bureau and the main antagonist of The Mandalorian, Moff Gideon was a high-ranking officer who led an Imperial Remnant several years after the Battle of Endor.

Participating in the Great Purge of Mandalore, Gideon retrieved the Darksaber - an ancient Mandalorian weapon of power and rulership - and used it to assert dominance throughout the Outer Rim. Conducting experiments in cloning and following plans left behind by the Emperor, Gideon demanded the capture of a valuable asset - a Force-sensitive Child.

With his subordinate hiring a feared Mandalorian bounty hunter to retrieve the Child, Gideon went on the warpath when the hunter refused to hand the prize over to the Empire. Occupying Nevarro, killing one of the Mandalorian's associates, and critically injuring the Mandalorian himself, it was clear that Gideon would stop at nothing to receive the asset.

Always one step ahead of everyone else and unflinching in the face of danger, Moff Gideon was soon discovered to be in control of a large group of Stormtroopers and had amassed impressive power and influence. Finally capturing the Child and destroying the Mandalorian's ship, Gideon was convinced that he was in control.

With the help of Boba Fett and some Mandalorians wanting to reclaim the Darksaber, Din Djarin stormed Gideon's Light Cruiser and battled against his near-unstoppable Dark Troopers. Engaged in a duel with the Moff, the Mandalorian won the Darksaber in combat - but Gideon had another plan to wipe the traitor out.

With the Dark Troopers cornering the Mandalorian's group, only the arrival of a single X-Wing struck fear into Gideon. Even trying to commit suicide to evade capture by the arriving Luke Skywalker, Gideon continually proves to be a slippery and unpredictable villain.

Unfortunately, we'll have to wait for The Mandalorian Season Three to find out what the Moff has planned next.
