Star Wars: 7 Ways That Palpatine Could Return For Rise Of Skywalker

The one that everyone’s bound to be talking about.

Recently, Star Wars content outside of the films has begun taking this really interesting turn in how it views time.

In the final season of Rebels, in the episode titled A World Between Worlds, Ezra steps through a portal and enters a void in which he can see, hear, and interact with moments from both the past and future. In Charles Soule’s final Darth Vader comic issue, Vader used the Force to take a metaphysical journey through the past and future.

In both of these cases, Palpatine was involved, in one way or another. So it is certainly not outside the realm of possibility that Rise of Skywalker could incorporate time travel into its narrative. Hell, considering his proximity to its involvement in the past, Palpatine himself could wind up being explicitly responsible for its involvement, having used it to somehow save himself and become an even bigger threat to the galaxy.
