4. New Characters
So the new guys. The elements that will give these new Star Wars movies their own personality and drive. Solo kids. Aliens. Bounty hunters.Droids. New order politics. New ships. Evolutions in design. What is going on in the Star Wars galaxy 30 years after Return of the Jedi and just who is going to bring the drama? I would imagine over the course of the three movies well get to see the Jedi order build. Potentially Luke and his new padawans (Solos or otherwise) will be searching for more new Jedi somewhere in here. Of course a new threat has to be established (more on that later) and it wouldn't be Star Wars unless we ventured to a new world in every movie. The new characters and more so who is cast in these roles is a key ingredient to this new trilogy. These characters are potentially going to be with us all forever. Haters got Jar Jar Binks to forever kick with the prequels and it will be interesting to see what the approach is in the sequels after this. The prequels got off quite lightly, given that its core characters were all known characters. In these sequels, Id imagine Disney/Lucasfilm will be looking at the future, so expect all of our new characters to be a little more weighty this time around and ready to take the torch off of our central much loved original trilogy characters as the story unfolds.
