5. Time Travel

Granted, Abrams is going to have to be
very careful if he uses this in the Star Wars franchise, because if he begins screwing around with the chronology, he is going to risk being summarily executed by Star Wars fanboys in the most literal way possible. Still, Abrams has demonstrated through both Star Trek films he has directed to date that he's a fan of the whole time travel shtick, even if it was ultimately just a means to placate fans of the original series by distinguishing itself as an alternate timeline. Time was also heavily played around with in his TV series Lost, and it would be remiss not to expect it to possibly occur in Star Wars. How this would unfold is anyone's guess, and the smart option would be
not to go back and interfere with the original trilogy, or better yet, perhaps not touch time travel at all.
