2. Introducing... A CollegeHumour Actress?!

In the grand tradition of Star Wars casting unknowns (Hamill, Fisher, Lloyd, Christensen, Ridley), Episode VIII will introduce Kelly Marie Tran, an actress who alongside the other big new additions will have everyone asking "Who?" Tran's filmography is comprised of mostly shorts and bit parts in TV shows, and she's probably most recognisable to people as a recurring actress for CollegeHumor, which puts her below post-Attack The Block John Boyega in terms of notability going into Star Wars. As such, like with Daisy Ridley in The Force Awakens, we really don't have much to go on in terms of what she's capable of or even what sort of role she'll be given. Those rumours of a secondary female character don't even help given that the film has been rewritten to put focus on Episode VII's cast, presumably decreasing the prominence of other newcomers.
