Star Wars Rogue One: 10 Major Questions We Still Have
3. What Is Going On On Scarif
It looks like Rogue One will be taking us once again to the Outer Rim for some of the film's biggest scenes. Similar to the Battle of Kashyyyk from Revenge of the Sith, we will be traversing water and jungle for some huge battles with tie fighters, some downed AT-AT, and those brand new Scarif Stormtroopers - dubbed Shoretroopers.
Just as we had the Starkiller Base for The Force Awakens, the jungle planet Scarif is Rogue One's big base of operations. We know that the Death Star survives to live another day, so it is likely that the big final battle takes place on Scarif itself. The planet is clearly of some significance, because earlier this year EA and DICE announced that the final expansion for Star Wars Battlefront will be tentatively titled Rogue One: Scarif.
You can even get a closer look at the planet thanks to a Walmart commercial promoting Scarif Trooper action figures. Expect there to also be a lot more of the Death Troopers and the other new additions - troopers with jetpacks. The Battle of Scarif is presumably where most of the film's war comparisons have come from and that connection to Saving Private Ryan.
Which side comes out on top remains to be seen, but there will almost certainly be some major losses for the Rogue One team in the film's climax.
