2. The Dead Meat Dread Is Strong In This One
Like it or not, there isn't going to be a completely happy ending in Rogue One. Yes, the Death Star plans will be retrieved and the Rebellion will eventually have a means to take down their enemy's heinous weapon, but there will also be significant costs.
And that's not even considering the "main" cast.
There are flashes in this trailer of the rest of the team. The ones clearly not interesting enough to be given their own backstories or an actual billing on the cast-list; the grunts who will basically be no more than cannon-fodder for the Empire. And by the look of shots like this, there's a lot of them.
There's even a Vietnam war feel to their outfits, thanks to the helmets and the flack-jackets. The message is clear: they're not long for this world.
