7. Someone (Probably) Dies

Is it Finn? Is it Han? Is it Leia? Is it Chewie? There's so much speculation about this one: a lot of people are saying it's got to be Han. He's got a brown jacket, and it sort of looks like there might be some hair like his in the right side of the shot. And it would easily add emotional weight to kill him off in the first instalment, giving the rest of the characters something to fight for throughout the rest of the trilogy. Like the way Joss Whedon brought the heroes together in The Avengers. But those shots of Finn facing off with Kylo Ren definitely leave open the possibility that it's him. You just know Kylo Ren's going to have Finn beat in a saber duel. The trees behind Rey in this shot seem to match up with that forest setting, and Finn's got a brown jacket too. (Which it looks like he got from Poe €“ Is it Poe?) And the recent EW images show Rey and Finn are both in the forest when Kylo Ren appears. Finn dying would give Rey something to fight for as well if they've been spending a fair bit of the movie together. Or it could be whoever it is isn't actually dead but just badly injured, and Disney's marketing department's just trying to trick us. Whatever happens, it was a genius moment to include in the first full trailer. It's got everyone talking and theorising, making their own speculations, without giving the game away.
