Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 8 Crazy Fan Theories About Luke Skywalker
4. He's Guarding A Sith Tomb
Kylo Ren has possession of Darth Vader's mask in The Force Awakens, and he's presumably had to travel and search quite a bit in order to retrieve it. We know that he's a total Vader fanboy, and he's gonna finish what Anakin started etc etc, but is there another reason behind his having the mask? Supposedly Kylo Ren is hunting these Force-related artefacts because one of them - although he doesn't know which - will allow him to open an ancient Sith tomb, which houses the body of an evil being. The idea is then that said being could be brought back to life, or his power could transfer to Kylo Ren. One person, however, has made it their mission to guard this tomb so that no one can unlock its power. This is where Luke is, in a self-imposed exile of sorts, doing the biggest duty possible in preventing the rise of the Sith. Oh, and the artefact that can open the tomb? Luke/Anakin's old lightsaber. Obviously.

A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
