Star Wars: The Last Jedi - 10 Concerns Raised By The Full Trailer

5. The Lack Of R2-D2 And C-3PO

In a weird way, R2-D2 and C-3PO are kind of the heart of the Star Wars franchise. Though the series purports to be about the Skywalker clan, it's also about these bumbling droids - they're the only consistent element in every adventure, and we see a lot of what happens from their perspective.

The pair were kind of shirked in The Force Awakens, which had R2-D2 absent until the film's final moments and C-3PO popping up for a few amusing lines before being relegated to the background. It's almost as though the film couldn't even be bothered to come up with legitimate reasons for their being there.

The pair are not in the new trailer for The Last Jedi (save for R2 in a brief moment in a flashback), which suggests either they're so important that showing them would have compromised the story (unlikely), or that they're - once again - not involved in a particularly big way and therefore irrelevant to the marketing.

The Last Jedi might prove us wrong, but as it stands it's still a cause for concern. R2-D2 and C-3PO are too important to shrug off.
