10. Kylo Ren Kills General Leia

The Rumour: In order to neatly tie up General Leia's character arc after Carrie Fisher's untimely death late last year, Leia will die at the hands of her own son, Kylo Ren.

The Truth: Even The Last Jedi's marketing pointed to this being true, and though Leia is very nearly killed by Kylo after he blows her ship, she actually survives the movie in tact, thanks to a surprise display of her apparent Force powers.

This is especially interesting as Rian Johnson probably could've done some reshoots to have Leia actually die following Kylo's assault, but instead, she makes it through the entire film and will presumably die peacefully of-screen before Episode IX.

Don't be surprised if the opening title crawl for the next movie begins with, "General Leia is dead." Against the odds, though, she made it through The Last Jedi in one piece.
