38. The Fanfare Is Re-recorded

Johnson states that the text of 'a long time ago', the pause, and then the crawl and music never gets old, but he also reveals that John Williams' opening fanfare is re-recorded for every Star Wars movie, and can be mixed to give it a different feel.

It means every movie has a slightly different take on the fanfare, and while Johnson says The Force Awakens' is "sharper", he wanted a "warmer" feel to the one in his movie.
