11. Was Snoke Ever A "Real" Person?

Palpatine reveals to Kylo Ren that Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) was actually created by him, and the brief sight of several discarded Snokes pickled in various green vats suggests that he was one of many Snoke clones.

It's a head-scratcher of a reveal which ultimately just asks more questions than it answers about the villain's origins.

Namely, was he ever a "real" person before Palpatine got involved? And if not, who was the DNA source for the original Snoke? Also, were their failed prior Snokes before the one we met in the last two movies?

All this revelation did was layer yet more convoluted ass-pull storytelling on top of a film already deeply awash in it.
