Stephen King: Ranking His Films From Worst To Best

26. Cat's Eye

Whilst the shorter of Stephen King's fiction output are often fleshed out and expanded upon for their big-screen versions, they seem equally as suited for the anthology format. At the lower end are films like Cat's Eye. An obscure and mostly forgotten entry in the canon of Stephen King films, the writer again personally adapted his own work for the screen, providing an original story along with cinematic takes on Quitters, Inc and The Ledge from his Night Shift collection. Despite Cujo director Lewis Teague at the helm and an impressive ensemble that included James Woods and the young Drew Barrymore (again), this is a mostly pedestrian bunch of semi-scary stories, competently directed, and nothing more. Unsurprisingly, it's out of print.
