Steven Spielberg: EVERY Movie Ranked Worst To Best
16. Bridge Of Spies (2015)
Taking a step off the battlefield, Spielberg decided to make a movie set during the Cold War about an American lawyer (Tom Hanks) who defends a man (an Oscar-winning Mark Rylance) accused of being a Russian spy.
Aided by a tightly-wound script from Matt Charman and the Coen Brothers, Bridge of Spies works wonders as a tense and powerful character study detailing one of the most turbulent times in modern history.
Spielberg is as elegant as ever in the director's chair, and with its towering performances and moody tone, it really deserves more credit for what it achieves.
