Suicide Squad: 9 Deleted Scenes That Would Have Definitely Improved The Film
5. Harleen Chases Down Joker
The Deleted Scene: One of many cut Joker scenes, this flashback sequence showed Clown Prince out on the town, shooting up a restaurant before jetting off on a quick getaway, with a pre-transformation Harleen chasing after them. As seen from those pesky set leaks, Qunizel holds a gun on the clown before being talked down and slapped, which culminates in the pair then making out.
Why It Would Have Improved The Movie: It's more Joker, and that's something the movie was really lacking. Leto's performance wasn't all that hot, but it would likely have been a bit clearer if there was more footage and a sense of coherence to his chaos. This sequence in particular would have been a strong one as it doubles up as an origin scene for Harley Quinn, showing her decent into psychosis and the pair's troubled relationship in more detail.
So, Why Was It Cut? Why was any of the Joker stuff cut? Jared Leto certainly doesn't know, but it appears again to be team related (which is mental given the love for the character), although there's the possibility there's the issue of placement; the film's only non-intro flashback came out of nowhere and had its effect ruined as a result.
