Sundance 2022: 20 Films You Need To Know About

1. We Met In Virtual Reality

We Met in Virtual Reality
Joe Hunting

Perhaps the single most inventive documentary film from this year's festival, Joe Hunting's We Met in Virtual Reality examines the means through which communities of people have used their virtual reality headsets to cope with the isolating nature of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shot entirely within the popular VR hub VRChat, Hunting's film is as heartfelt as it is creative, proving the power of technology to improve lives and help them triumph over enormous physical and emotional turmoil.

Filmed in a style impressively similar to live-action documentaries, this is an easy proposition for VR evangelists or really anyone keen to learn more about a fringe technological sub-culture.
