Turkish Airlines had a successful series of Super Bowl ads back in 2016, which memorably served as a glossy tie-in for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

This year, they dumped a truckload of money on Ridley Scott's porch and had him direct a six-minute short film, "The Journey", starring Blade Runner 2049's Sylvia Hoeks.

Though beautifully shot and full of gorgeously exotic locations, it's not much more than a generic, borderline nonsensical chase narrative intended to show off Istanbul's new airport and remind you that Turkish Airlines exists.

With no new movie set to release in 2019, this marks the longest time the industrious Scott has gone without releasing a new film since the 1997-2000 gap between G.I. Jane and Gladiator. Get back on it, Ridley.
