Terminator Genisys: 10 Questions It Failed To Answer

4. What Becomes Of John Connor?

The big shocking twist right at the heart of Genisys is that John Connor is actually a cyborg and working for Skynet. Which, of course, you already knew had you seen the film€™s trailer.

Now working against his mother and Kyle Reese, he serves as the face of Skynet for the film€™s final act, engaging in battle with Schwarzenegger and ultimately being defeated.

But what happens to him now? He€™s been one of the key figures of the entire franchise, so is he genuinely going to be dead, or is he alive in another timeline? Will he now be born later, giving scope to future appearances if/when a sequel is made? As Sarah and Kyle didn€™t €˜mate€™ when they were supposed to, can he even exist at all in the future timeline as we see it, because he hasn€™t been born thus can€™t be in 2029 to get taken back to 2017 as a machine? Anyone else€™s head hurting?
