Following a relatively quiet period that had only seen him make two big-screen appearances since 2013, Tom Hardy returned with a bang this year. Starring in no less than five movies, the British actor further reinforced his reputation as one of the most versatile talents in the business. After a solid lead performance in the otherwise disappointing thriller Child 44, Hardy would mix things up by next appearing in the adaptation of British musical London Road before swiftly moving on to a $150m post-apocalyptic action blockbuster with a stoic and physical turn as the title character in the jaw-dropping Mad Max: Fury Road. Then came the challenge of playing opposite himself as both of the notorious Kray brothers in Brian Helgeland's Legend, a movie that as a whole never came close to matching the quality of either of its lead actor's performances. Hardy's final theatrical outing of 2015 saw him play the role of chief antagonist in Alejandro G. Inarritu's stunning The Revenant, giving a committed turn as the cold and brutal John Fitzgerald, who becomes the target of revenge for Leonardo DiCaprio's Hugh Glass after murdering the frontiersman's son and leaving Glass for dead in the middle of the wilderness. Pulling off six different performances in five movies released in the same year is no easy task, and only serves as a testament to Tom Hardy's abilities as an actor.
I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
