The Avengers 2: 5 Female Avengers We Don’t Want to See

2. Squirrel Girl

Squirrel Girl (Doreen Green) has the ability to control Squirrels (€scary?) but apparently this is cooler than we think€? Do I really have to argue why this character would be ridiculous in an Avengers sequel? I do? Ok then. First of all, she looks like a squirrel. Isn€™t that enough reason? Secondly she is a mutant, and mutants aren€™t really allowed or involved in this current Avengers universe. Thirdly, she has a squirrel sidekick called Monkey Joe (who is a squirrel???). I€™m going to be honest, I have never read a comic which features Squirrel Girl but I€™m not sure that€™s something to be ashamed of, is it? After all the difficulty the directors of the Marvel films no doubt faced having to take iconic but campy and arguably ridiculous looking Marvel characters and make them look convincing but most importantly credible, cool, and awesome on the big screen, introducing a character named Squirrel Girl into the line-up would immediately make this the campest film series in the history of comic book movies (OK, maybe not as camp as Batman and Robin or Batman Forever, but close). This isn€™t going to happen is it? Not in a million years. The worrying thing is, in the comics, she has defeated many major supervillians including Doctor Doom, Mandarin, Deadpool, MODOK, Wolverine and most worryingly of all of these€ Thanos, the supervillian in Avengers 2€ probably (if not Avengers 2, definitely GoTG). If Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and the Hulk need to bring in Squirrel Girl as a third act plot twist in order to defeat Thanos in The Avengers 2 then I am out!
