The Batman: 10 Actors Who Could Play The Joker For Matt Reeves

Robert Downey Jr.'s time as Iron Man is well and truly over after Avengers: Endgame, so there's really no reason he now can't go ahead and join the DC Extended Universe as its Clown Prince of Crime.

The actor hasn't exactly had a huge amount of luck since leaving Tony Stark behind (is it possible to just wipe Dolittle from history?), so joining a franchise like The Batman and working with Matt Reeves could help set him back on the right track. There's definitely more to Downey than just being an Avenger, and if Warner Bros. wants to fully reinvent The Joker, he might be the best possible choice.

His performance would likely be one that divides fans, and it could honestly go one way or the other in terms of what he does with the character. However, if he brings the charm of Tony Stark, the quirkiness of Sherlock Holmes, and some much-needed madness, he could be a truly perfect Joker.

As a slightly older version of the villain, he would likely also bring a similar experienced feel to the role that Jack Nicholson did all those years ago in Batman.
