The Batman: 10 Huge Rumours That Would Change Everything
6. It Will Be Based On The Long Halloween
With a background and history as rich as Batman's, Matt Reeves has an almost unending pool of stories to choose from. Whether it is a direct adaptation of a particular narrative, a story taking influence from several different arcs, or even a completely original story, the director could take the movie in any number of different directions.
According to the rumours, this direction will adapt at least some aspect from The Long Halloween. The story, taking place during the early years of Batman's career, sees the Caped Crusader battle against the clock as a murderer begins killing only on holidays.
It's easy to see why such a story would be appealing to both Reeves and the fans. In previous Batman movies, though we have seen origin stories, the dark knight has rarely been portrayed as young or inexperienced. Not only would this give us a unique cinematic take on the character, it would more than fit the youthful casting of Robert Pattinson.
On top of this, several of The Batman's confirmed characters play a big role in this particular story, including Catwoman, Carmine Falcone, and a pre-Commissioner Jim Gordon. It also heavily features Two Face, once more adding fuel to the fire that the character will appear in the movie in some way.
