The Best Moment Of Every MCU Film - Ranked
12. Grenade! – Captain America: The First Avenger
Before he was Captain America, Steve Rogers was as far from your stereotypical superhero as anyone could possibly have been. He was small and sickly, had a long list of medical problems that kept him from being welcomed into the army, and was beaten up all over Brooklyn.
However, what he lacked in stature and strength he more than made up for with his spirit, his never give up attitude and his good heart.
When Rogers finally joined the army, Colonel Phillips struggled to accept him as the test subject for the super soldier programme. Nevertheless, when Phillips threw a dummy grenade into the middle of the group, Steve was the only one who didn't run for cover, instead jumping on top of it to sacrifice himself and save those around him.
This was when Colonel Phillips was forced to accept the future Captain's bravery and his many other qualities beyond the physical. This was also the moment Peggy truly took notice of Steve, Dr. Erskine was vindicated for his choice, and the audience completely fell in love with the character. The first of many, many actions that ultimately led to the character being deemed worthy of lifting Mjolnir.
