The film is most definitely worth a look, even if just to witness the incredible performance of Elizabeth Moss. There is a degree of patience required in the first act, especially if you're over the slow burn tactics of the Paranormal Activity franchise. But there is something more earnest, more believable, more to invest in here and it makes the film an engaging experience.

The script also refuses to follow the playbook we expect, with surprising decisions made and characters exiting in shocking fashion. The fact that literally no one is safe and that our unseen villain appears to have no moral compass whatsoever adds to the edge of your seat excitement.

The film may not be for everyone, and the final moments are a bit of a head scratcher, but you'll see a lot worse films this year than this one.
