The movie looked like it was going down a different path until the last five minutes, and had it stuck on this path then a sequel in the vain of this film would have been far more likely. While we can’t be certain what the future has in store, it seems extremely unlikely that this is anything but its own franchise, and it would almost be a shame if a tie in to the Dark Universe is attempted. Considering the likely success of the film it’s fair to assume we will get another chapter or two from the 'Invisible' franchise, but it will be hard to produce a film worthy of it predecessor.
