The Single Biggest Mistake Every James Bond Film Has Made

10. The Living Daylights: Being Far, Far Too Serious And Dull

Surely the least exciting instalment in the franchise's history, The Living Daylight wastes a strong lead performance from Timothy Dalton on a painfully dull spy film without any sort of charm, excitement or humour.

After the silliness of most of the Roger Moore films, it was very sensible for the franchise to go back to its gritty, Cold War thriller routes, but this particular entry went way too far in that direction.

A James Bond movie can be serious, but where other serious instalments like Casino Royale and On Her Majesty's Secret Service still had glamour, excitement and entertainment to counter-balance the darker tone, The Living Daylights doesn't have any of that whatsoever.

As such, it's arguably one of the worst films in the series.
