4. All-Action Loki

After years of playing arch-manipulator (or distracting absentee), Thor: Ragnarok sets up a return of the all-action Loki we've seen before. He's not just a wussy Machiavellian pouring words into his victims' ears like honey to tempt them or destroy them, he's the bad-ass expert dagger-wielder at the very front-line of battle.

And while he might have back-up, he's not leading a team of characterless alien mooks from the background - he's getting right amongst it. Using daggers that require extremely close combat rather than safer ranged attacks. This is all good news for anyone hoping to see more swash-buckling from Tom Hiddleston.

Extra points must also go to whoever decided to show off Heimdall as an all-action character too, rather than having him in his traditional security guard role, being all grumpy. Doesn't mean he's not absolutely going to be killed off comically early though...
