20 Movies and TV Shows That Made Actors QUIT Genres
6. Jordana Brewster - Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning
It's not just young children that the world of horror movies can scare away from the entire genre itself. Kyle Richards was still in single digits when she swore off horror after making Halloween, while Jordana Brewster was 26 when she appeared in Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.
Of course, the original is one of the most influential slasher films of all time, and though the remake in 2003 wasn't received nearly as well, there was still a prequel greenlit in quick fashion, something that Brewster was desperate to be a part of.
Best known for her role as Mia Toretto in the Fast & Furious franchise, Brewster played Chrissie in the 2006 Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel, and before the film was even released, swore off ever making another horror movie in an interview, claiming to have already turned down three offers.
As to why Brewster turned down these horror offers? According to the Fast actress, the gruelling experience of shooting The New Beginning was a major factor. Both Brewster and Diora Baird, who played Bailey, enjoyed the experience but were happy to see the back of it by the time shooting had wrapped.
