20 Movies and TV Shows That Made Actors QUIT Genres

18. Jennifer Aniston - Friends

No matter how many great sitcoms have arrived over the last two decades, none have managed to equal the popularity or cultural impact of Friends.

The show was unprecedented, it made mega stars out of the core six actors, and it became iconic the world over. So, how do you follow such a successful show? Well, according to Jennifer Aniston, you don't.

Of the six, it was Aniston who had the most successful career post-Friends, and all without returning to the world of sitcoms, which is something she can't see herself doing again. It seems that the experience on Friends was so perfect that unless she could guarantee something similar, a condition all but impossible to meet, it's a no-go.

The former Rachel Green has largely stayed away from TV altogether in the years since Friends finished, until leading The Morning Show opposite Reese Witherspoon (her on-screen spoiled sister in Friends) from 2019. So television itself is not out of the question, but don't expect to see Aniston in another comedy any time soon.
