6. Jetpack Escape (Thunderball, 1965)
http://youtu.be/66CnAFCoCrA In the pre-title sequence of "Thunderball," Bond (Sean Connery) goes to the funeral of SPECTRE agent Jacques Bouvar only to discover that Bouvar's grieving widow is actually Bouvar in disguise. Bond kills him and escapes via jetpack. While the jetpack has been criticized for looking silly by today's standards, it's still a quintessentially Bond way to make an exit. As he says, "No well dressed man should be without one."
5. The return of 006 (GoldenEye, 1995)

At the beginning of "GoldenEye," Bond (Pierce Brosnan) and fellow agent Alec Trevelyan (Sean Bean) break in to a Russian chemical weapons facility and place explosives. Alec is killed and Bond escapes. Years later, while investigating the disappearance of the codes for the Russian satellite weapon, GoldenEye, Bond discovers that Alec faked his death and is behind the theft of the codes. Alec, a descendent of the Cossacks clan that sided with the Nazis during WWII, blames the British for the death of his parents. The reunion of the former friends, taking place in a deserted "graveyard" full of statues resembling former communist leaders, is one the series' most chilling and emotionally potent scenes. Alec's grief over what he sees as the betrayal of the British holds genuine historical weight and. By having the film be so much about the past, this gives the a modern sensibility. Times have changed and Bond has to think on the past in ways that go beyond black and white.
