8. Bond Tips Sanchez's Plane (Licence to Kill, 1989)

Bond (Timothy Dalton) and his friend, former CIA, now DEA agent Felix Leiter (David Hedison), are on thier way to Felix's wedding when DEA agents call on Felix to help them catch drug lord Franz Sanchez (Robert Davi). Sanchez is escaping in his plane and Bond and Leiter use a helicopter pull Sanchez's plane out of the air. Then Bond and Felix jump down just in time for the wedding. It's a nice bit of ingenuity and another one of those great practical stunts. As a pre-credit teaser it delivers what we expect from Bond but, in an interesting twist, has tragic consequnces for Felix when Sanchez comes back for revenge. Director Christopher Nolan has said he's a big fan of the Bond franchise and the beginning of his film "The Dark Knight Rises," involving the villan Bane, is an homage to "Licence to Kill's" opening.
7. Golden Girl (Goldfinger, 1964)
http://youtu.be/FGKYZUqbzgQ "Goldfinger" is full of iconic images. The most famous-and arguably the most famous in the series-is the sight of Jill Masterson (Shirley Eaton), covered in gold paint. Bond discovered she was helping Goldfinger cheat at Gin Rummy. From her balcony she would use binoculars to see the cards of the man with whom Goldfinger was playing. Bond made Goldfinger lose and essentially stole Jill. After being knocked out by Goldfinger's henchman Oddjob (Harold Sakata), Bond wakes to find Jill dead from asphyxiation due to the gold paint. There was even an urban legend that Eaton actually died from the same thing but that is false. Notice there's a pillow conveniently placed in front of Eaton's rear to suggest Jill is naked. The gold chime on the soundtrack also adds to the shocking nature of the image.
