20 Upcoming Horror Movies That Are Already DOOMED
1. The Lost Boys Reboot
Some great movies just don't have the juice to be a franchise, no matter how hard folk might try otherwise.
Case in point, we have Joel Schumacher's excellent 1987 horror-comedy The Lost Boys, which got a critically panned, direct-to-DVD sequel, Lost Boys: The Tribe, 21 years later.
Despite this, the film's commercial success led to another panned follow-up, 2010's Lost Boys: The Thirst, after which The CW attempted to develop a TV adaptation, but seemingly gave up following two failed pilots.
Word went quiet for a little while, then, until September 2021, when a modern-day Lost Boys reboot was announced with Noah Jupe and Jaeden Martell set to star, while Jonathan Entwistle (Karate Kid: Legends) directs.
Considering the utter vitriol that this announcement mustered from fans of the original, The Lost Boys is clearly not worth revisiting. It'd be great to be proven wrong, but here's one better - tell an original story instead.
