20 Upcoming Movies Absolutely NOBODY Wants
10. Thunderbolt & Lightfoot Remake
Some proposed remakes are so predictable as to border on self-parody, and that's certainly true of the recently announced re-do of Thunderbolt and Lightfoot - the classic 1974 action comedy starring Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges.
Last November, Amazon announced that Ryan Reynolds was attached to produce and star in a remake while also contributing to the script, with Deadpool and Wolverine editor Shane Reid making his directorial debut.
Even accepting that writers Enzo Mileti and Scott Wilson have worked on the brilliant Fargo TV series, this is just one of those perfectly formed time-and-place movies that doesn't in any way need a remake.
Reynolds is an obvious yet not particularly inspired choice to lead the remake, which suggests the broad-minded approach it's probably going to take to the original material.
And let's face it, there's a good chance this is pretty much a remake-in-name-only that's ultimately using the brand name to tell a relatively generic action-crime comedy story.
