Stop! That! Train! is the new action comedy film from Adam Shankman (Hairspray, Rock of Ages), following two train stewardesses who try to stop a disaster from happening on a train due to a storm.
The film is within the Drag Race universe and stars drag performers Ginger Minj, Jujubee, and RuPaul, and on the eve of the film's release, Shankman expressed his hopes for a sequel.
However, he also noted that Stop! That! Train! 2's production was entirely contingent on people coming out to cinemas to support the first film.
Yet even with the film's budget being a mere $12.8 million, it ended up grossing just $4 million globally, which even for a film given a fairly limited theatrical rollout is quite calamitous.
That is all to say that any chance of a sequel went up in smoke as soon as those opening weekend numbers came out, sadly.
