What Next For The MCU After Avengers: Endgame?
2. The Fantastic Four
To put it lightly, the Fantastic Four have not had the greatest of times on the big screen. The infamous unreleased 1994 version was allegedly only made to keep a hold of the license, Tim Story's two efforts were nothing short of dismal, while Josh Trank's Fant4stic is one of the most morbidly fascinating disasters of recent years.
Fortunately, Marvel Studios now finally hold the rights to the characters in the wake of the Fox takeover. Even though nobody has managed to get a Fantastic Four movie right even after four attempts, the MCU's track record ever since its inception should be more than enough to prove Marvel's First Family are in safe hands.
Even though many people will have negative preconceptions of the Fantastic Four due to the poor quality of previous movies, the strength of the MCU as a brand would be enough to convince audiences to expect nothing less than the studio's usual standard.
With the cosmic side of the universe constantly expanding and the climax of Avengers: Endgame removing a huge amount of both team-based adventure and a dysfunctional family dynamic from the MCU's connective tissue, it seems that the stars have aligned for the Fantastic Four to finally join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and play a pivotal role in it.
