Wonder Woman: 10 Major DCEU Problems It Fixed

1. A Proper Standalone Film That Helps Build The Universe

In a cinematic universe that has quite obviously been rushing things along for the sake of trying to catch up with Marvel thus far, it is an incredibly promising change of pace to see just how much time, care, and quality control they put into the production of Wonder Woman.

It's the first genuine solo film in the DCEU since Man of Steel and is the very first to tell its own complete and definitive story. Moreover, rather than try to build the DC Extended Universe through cheap, railroaded cameos or references, as mentioned before, Wonder Woman is a film that takes a more fundamental approach in helping to build this universe.

It broke the ground its predecessors failed to by telling a well-paced origin story that doesn't try to be bigger than it is, all while being all that it could have been and so much more. In turn, Wonder Woman has laid a solid foundation to be built upon, something this franchise desperately needed. Rather than be a rushed, pseudo-ensemble film, it was simply allowed to do its own thing, make history in the process, and the franchise is going to be better off for it.

Warner Bros. finally realized that to achieve great success, you first have to take a step back, see what's important, and run with it. And while it may be the fourth film in the DCEU, Wonder Woman will likely come to be known as the true genesis that allowed for the series to thrive.

As the old adage goes, slow and steady wins the race.
