Wonder Woman Movie: 10 Signs It Might Actually Be Good

2. They're Following The New 52 Origin Story

Despite some silly rumours that the Amazonians in the DC Cinematic Universe will be the descendants of ancient Kryptonians, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice producer Charles Roven has since made it clear that they won't be going in that direction with Diana. She will instead be a demigod whose father is Zeus (yes, that Zeus), just like in her retold origin story in DC's rebooted New 52 comic book universe. For starters, that being explored in her movie will be a lot more interesting than the original version which claimed she was constructed from clay and brought to life by the souls of ancient Greek deities. Don't thing that Warner Bros. are trying to copy Thor by heading in this direction either. The stories featuring Wonder Woman battling it out with ancient Greek Gods are very different, and her coming to terms with being one of Zues' unwanted children has been met with widespread critical acclaim; adapting even just some of that would be extremely exciting. Throw in the fact that Wonder Woman recently became the new God of War after killing Ares, and this movie may end up showing Marvel how movies about Gods should be done.
