3. It's May Decide The Fate Of Female Led Superhero Movies

After pitting Batman and Superman against each other and introducing moviegoers to the villainous Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman is the first solo movie for a member of the Justice League. After a failed TV pilot in 2011 and numerous failed attempts to get the Amazonian warrior her own movie, it was beginning to look like Wonder Woman would never get her chance to shine on the big screen. However, her debut in 2017 is significant for one reason. Wonder Woman will be the first female led superhero movie since Catwoman and Elektra, two releases which performed terribly at the box office and with critics. They're widely blamed for being the reason studios are reluctant to give female superheroes their own movies, and why Marvel has never pushed ahead with a solo outing for Black Widow. If Wonder Woman succeeds though, it could change everything, and that means it's going to be a priority for Warner Bros. For that reason, expect them to do all they can to ensure that it ends up working where others have failed. Plus, with Marvel's Captain Marvel following shortly after, there's no way that the studio will want to be seen screwing up Wonder Woman, only for their rivals to find success with a character who is arguably C-List at best...
