X-Men: Apocalypse - 9 Reasons To Be Excited

6. Archangel And The Horsemen

Singer hasn't actually come out and said the name Archangel, but he has confirmed that Ben Hardy would be playing "not a very nice Angel", and that coupled with some recent concept art leaves little doubt.

In the comics, Warren Worthington is forced to amputate his wings and it leaves him in a suicidal state. En Sabah Nur offers to give him the power of flight once more, but at great cost, as Warren becomes "Death"; one of the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse. Reborn with lethal metal wings and an unsettling blue visage, the character became known as Archangel and even when he rejoined the ranks of the X-Men he was usually depicted this way.

It's unclear right now if the movie will follow suit, though there's a very good chance it will at least take some influence from this well-loved storyline. But what about the other 3 Horsemen? Initially they were fairly minor characters bearing the names War, Famine, and Pestilence - but it's possible we could see some more familiar faces take on these roles in the film.

Caliban? Psylocke? Wolverine as War, perhaps?
