X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer - 8 Major Revelations From Bryan Singer's Q&A

1. It's Going To Be... Like A Michael Bay Movie?!

For the most part, Bryan Singer has always kept the action in his X-Men movies fairly grounded. However, there's been a lot of talk about X-Men: Apocalypse being like a disaster movie, and that was confirmed in comments from the director about the epic destruction we see in New York City at the end of the trailer. As it turns out, that will be taking place all across the globe, and not just in the Big Apple! Asked about just how much action and widespread chaos we'll end up seeing in the movie, Singer teased: "They€™ll be visually different than things you€™ve seen in these kinds of destructive movies, like Roland Emmerich€™s films or Michael Bay€™s. There are large-scale setpieces." Is that cause for concern? Not really, as seeing these epic visuals will actually be a very refreshing change of pace for the X-Men franchise. Don't worry about the story being overshadowed by special effects though. Singer went on to promise that X-Men: Apocalypse is, "the climax of six movies, beginning with X-Men 1" and "about the formation of the X-Men." That explains that final shot of James McAvoy looking very much like Patrick Stewart's Professor X then, and the filmmaker confirms that he's not looking at the audience, but at something in particular. Could that be the assembled X-Men? Unfortunately, we're just going to have to wait and see on that... Are you excited to see X-Men: Apocalypse? Share your reactions below in the comments thread.
