4. We'll See Peace In Our Time
We already know from the denouement of DOFP that Xavier's school is flourishing well after the effects of Apocalypse's awakening and inevitable defeat, but it's not known for certain that the world outside the mansion will be the same inhospitable place that we first encountered in 2000's X-Men. Apocalypse might wage a war against the human race, fanning the flames of hatred on both sides, but it could ultimately lead to peace between the two races. It seems like wishful thinking given how the X-Men always fight for a world that fears them, but if a team of mutants are seen to stand against the worst example of their race then humanity could show the first signs of acceptance. The X-Men of comic books may live in state of perpetual tension with the human race, but it wouldn't make sense narratively for Apocalypse, the last announced X-film as things stand, to leave the characters in such a bleak place. Some may find it contrary to the spirit of the comics but don't they deserve a win? Plus a world where mutants are accepted more readily would be easier for Fox to populate with new blood who don't have to worry about going over the same ground thematically .
