10 Addictive Video Games That Will Ruin Your Life

2. Pac-Man

Again proving the benefits of simplicity, Pac-Man is devilishly easy to get to grips with; you play a yellow object resembling a hockey puck, who you control as he goes around a map trying to munch as many pills, cherries and keys as possible while avoiding the infamous ghostly quartet consisting of Pinky, Blinky, Inky and Clyde. Its addiction has been well documented in both the arcades and at home; in the arcades the thrill was very much in attaining the high score and then adding your initials into the annals of local gaming lore, whereas at home, at least until online gaming became a big thing, it was all about perfecting your own game. Whatever the environment, the game is absurdly addictive because despite being pretty repetitive, it's got personality to spare, especially in the games that feature the lovely Ms. Pac-Man. It's a game for all ages, and one which has its fans in just about every possible cross-section of society.
