10 Amazing Video Game Characters That Were Killed Off Way Too Quickly

4. All Of Kiryu's Crew - Yakuza

The first Yakuza game starts with Kiryu walking out of prison and reuniting with his old crew... Only to see them get killed one by one.

Yes, the series debut piles up so many corpses that it would probably struggle to fit all of them within the kill count of any two of its sequels!

It makes sense, given that Yakuza's creators didn't really know how well their first game would do, and they probably preferred to tell a more concise story rather than save up any characters for a sequel that could never come to pass.

Still, due to this decision, we lost a ton of seriously interesting characters with such deep ties to Kiryu's past that not even Goro can compare.

From his partners in the Yakuza to his childhood best friend and even Kiryu's adopted father, everyone important in Kiryu's life is gone by the end of the game, and because of this, none of the sequels got to expand on the unique relationships he had with all of them, other than in flashbacks and prequels.

Seriously, maybe only Yakuza 0 can compare in terms of how many deaths happened in the original!
